Aims and Objectives
Looking up, Reaching out
Because people of every type
and every generation matter to God. He wants them to know Him
and be wholly devoted to Him. His chosen method of contact is
through a local church. He has entrusted the Good News about
His Son, Jesus Christ, to the ordinary men and women who make
up those churches. We need to come to terms with what that means
for us and our generation. Our response matters for our friends.
Develop an understanding of church:
- A group of believers
- Determined to grow
- Deepening relationships
- Pursuing authentic Christian
living
- Telling the truth
- Caring for one another (in small
groups)
- Stewardship of all our resources
(funding the deal)
Develop a sensitivity to our
community:
- Building relationships in the
community
- Sharing a simple witness with
our friends
- Designing our services with
non church goers in mind
- Inviting people to our services
(putting ourselves out)
- Praying for people to become
devoted to Christ
- Giving of our very best, wholeheartedly
- Addressing real needs, not ideas
Develop our teamwork:
- Leaders giving a lead
- Identifying spiritual gifts
- Understanding spiritual passion
- Presenting opportunities for
service
- Accountable to each other
- Acknowledging each other
- Resolving conflict
In all things, the supremacy
of Christ, the primacy of the Bible, and the priority of evangelism.
