Church weekend at Quinta, April 2007

The Bethel weekend away took place at Quinta Hall near Oswestry on a bright, warm, sunny weekend in April. It was self catering accommodation in the grand old building, so plenty of time in the kitchen, but plenty of free time also between the study sessions.

The weekend took a theme of "Life and Faith", with the main study sessions taking place on Saturday morning. Most of the adults had a choice between "Practical Spirituality" and "World Religions", followed by "Modern Trends", whilst the children had a fun-packed time hunting Easter eggs and preparing banners depicting "Jesus, the Light of the World". Saturday afternoon was free time, providing the opportunity to go for a walk, play games, or sit in discussion.

The Saturday evening concert is always a highlight of the church weekend away. God has given us each different gifts, and the concert provides opportunity for all from the very young to the older ones to display their natural talents for singing, dancing, story-telling, or just making everybody laugh. We held a family service with communion on the Sunday morning, and reviewed the banners prepared by the children on the day before. After lunch and a tidy-up of the building, it was time to head back home.
