Fun
on the Field, 24 September 2003
Bethel supported
the "Beyong the ring" initiative of the Diocese of
Chester. On 24 September a variety of events took place around
Macclesfield, culminating in "Fun on the Field"; the
field being the King George Playing Field on Windmill Street,
close to Bethel.
Starting at 5:30pm, there was a bouncy castle,
puppet show, and games for the children.
There were information
stalls, a burger bar, and ice cream. A short distance away, on
the canal, longboats carried exhibitions prepared by the Diocese.
Following this,
the Sutton Ceildh band played whilst young and old alike were
encouraged to dance along.

Later on in the
evening, the "In yer face" theatre company performed
some hard-hitting sketches to show that Jesus Christ is relevant
to modern life in Britain. |
