Harvest Thanksgiving, October 2006

Sunday 1 October was Harvest Thanksgiving at Bethel. Jenny Graves brought some of the Eden team and a number of young people from Harpurhey to give the church an update on work in Eden Harpurhey - a social action project in Manchester where Jenny (one of our church members) plays a leading role. The theme for the service was "urban harvest" which is evident in the transformation of young people as seen by the Eden team.

Another of our members, Val, painted a grafitti-style mural behind the pulpit, depicting teenagers hanging around a city street. The slogan above the mural, "Make the Community Liveable again", illustrates one objective of the Eden team.

A traditional harvest display sat alongside the "urban harvest" display.
